This is the inner portion of a conch shell. Shells are beaten mercilessly by the heavy surf in the Outer Banks until they are so small they resemble stones and eventuallly sand. This pie can't has two of those stones lodged inside the twirl. They were left in for an awesome look.
Silvery shellack gives it a bit of panache while maintaining it's aboriginal look. German silver wire with a multi-facetted milky white glass bead.
