28" Turquoise nuggets are featured in this necklace along with natural seashell Heishi beads. They were salvaged from two other broken necklaces. The Turquoise seems to be authentic but I have no way to verify it. The faults and the discoloration are rarely found in imitation turquoise.
"Heishe or heishi (pronounced "hee shee") are small disc- or tube-shaped beads made of organic shells or ground and polished stones. They come from the Kewa Pueblo people (formerly Santo Domingo Pueblo) of New Mexico, before the use of metals in jewelry by that people." from Wikipedia.
Three strands of cording were used to string these and antique end cones and hook & loop closure to complete it.
